Speculum Animae (Soul´s mirror), by sor Isabel de Villena. Facsimile edition of the manuscript Esp. 544, catalogued as an anonymous piece of work from the 15th century possibly written by an valencian or catalonian author and kept at the Biblithèque Nationale de Paris. The publication consist of two volumes. The first one is the faithful reproduction of the codex, enriched with a beautiful Mudejar binding in leather. The second volume contains the text transcription (Occitan or Limousin, similar to today's Valencian or Catalan, and Latin), its translation into Spanish and several historic, literary, and artistic studies in Spanish and Catalan (in different additional volumes) carried out by Albert Hauf i Valls and Daniel Benito Goerlich. Book of Christian meditation closely related to the Way to Human Salvation (Speculum Humanae Salvationis), 88 pages of threaded paper of 33 x 25 cm, illuminated with 75 miniatures, 63 of them at full page, written and probably illuminated in the late 15th century by sor Isabel de Villena, daughter of the well-known Marquis of Villena and mitred abbess of the Convent of the Trinity, Valence (Spain), where the manuscript disappeared in the 18th century.
